The Fund was awarded $450,000 in October 2024 as a result of its application to PA Local Share in 2023. This request was for the implementation of the first phase of our multi-barrier protection strategy, which includes the purchase and installation of flood resistant windows and doors that will aesthetically match the historic features in addition to the installation of a machine room-less elevator whose equipment would be located above flood levels. The installation of these features would significantly lessen the impact of flooding and the severe damage caused by debris and mud which enter and do not exit the structure. The $450,000 will be used for the purchase and installation of the elevator to restore access to visitors with physical limitations. The Fund is submitting an application for the 2024 Local Share round for approximately $1 million to complete the first phase of the flood protection plan.
